Installing a secondary LWCO on Weil-McLain EG?

I'm getting a lot of resistance and differing opinions from NYC inspectors about where to add a secondary manual-reset low water cut-off device and they're not accepting the installation manual's indicated "T" tapping as a viable location.
One inspector suggested one of these products, but it seems like overkill to me:

I'd like to see WM make a compliant second tapping available, but until then, your thoughts/methods are appreciated.

LWCO
I usually connect a top and bottom tap with a tee at the appropriate level for a secondary LWCO. Similarly, you can install tees on the sight glass valves, like a float type LWCO, and run a parallell pipe with a tee near the bottom 90.0 -
ok
Yeah, we did the top-to-bottom loop and that got rejected by an inspector. He wanted us to replace the switch in the #67 with a manual reset switch and add a probe-type operating lwco to the next higher tapping.
Annoying.
Most boiler companies give you a perfect tapping location for the secondary, but sometimes it's nice to have the tankless coil option the EG gives you.Contact John "JohnNY" Cataneo, NYC Master Plumber, Lic 1784
