    That's a wonderful book.

    I corresponded with her a year or so after publication and it was well-received. I wish more authors would do what she did. 
    Retired and loving it.

    In "older" music, you get the same image. "The heat pipes cough."



    I think once we traded the coal shovels for thermostats, we lost that whole part of our culture. Every time I'm in an old basement, I imagine myself as the dad from A Christmas Story, banging and rustling...a cloud of soot rising out of the vents.
