sewer pit connection

Hi
I'm hoping someone could give me an insight into the proper way of plumbing sewer pit exhaust. Im planning on adding a shower to the basement bathroom. Because of the height limitation there(usable height is only 76") I need to put in a sewer pit and then connect it to the sewer line. Because main sewer drain pipe is located behind existing basement bathroom wall it would require me to demolish it if i wanted to connect it directly to the main line. However, there is a 2" drain pipe running from upstairs bathroom right above sewer pit location. Code issues aside, could i simply connect sewer pit 1 1/2" exhaust pipe to the 2" upstairs bathroom drain pipe with a wye? What are some of the potential ramifications with this approach?
thank you in advance for any advice!
