How are the sections of cast iron radiators held together? I have two radiators that froze and broke. Just one or two sections in each broke. I would like to take them apart and make one out of two or remove the broken sections and make two smaller ones.
If this is not possible how can I take them apart to move them out of the house? Sledge hammer?

It depends....
on the radiator. some have a rod that holds them together and some have a left and right nipple in side that pulls them together.... do you have some pictures? If they froze and broke repair is prob. out of the question. You can replace them w/ used ones.0
