Hi,
Is it permissible to install a residential hot water baseboard under an existing receptacle outlet? I know an electric baseboard may or may not, usually not.
Thanks

I do not know if it is permissible or not, but I have two rooms in my house and each has hot water baseboard under an electrical outlet.0 -
Sure Hope So
I'm not familiar with your particular building code if there is one. There might be a manufacuters recommedation on how close it can be for lamp cords etc. If it was exclusivley prohibited it would clash with the electric code on installing the required receptacles. In my house most of the outer wall perimeter has finned copper baseboard. Most of it is 7-8" high and in my house the receptacles are 16" off the floor to centerline. Mike0 -
Thanks Guys...
For electric heat NEC 424.9 contains a FPN that does not explicitly ban installing beneath receptacle outlets. I'm just going to go with that for the hot water also.0
