HEAT PUMP

I LIVE IN VIRGINIA AND I HAVE A HEAT PUMP. THE INSIDE UNIT IN MY HOUSE IS LEAKING CONDENSATION / WATER FROM SOMEWHERE AND FILLING UP THE SILVER DUCT WORK THING THAT THE UNIT SITS ON. I REPLACED THE CONDENSATION PUMP AND REPIPED THE PVC DRAIN FROM THE PAN TO THE CONDENSATION PUMP I FOUND A SMALL LEAK ON THE JOINT WHERE IT ENTERS THE DRAIN PAN. I LOOKED FOR A LEAK OR CRACKS ON THE PAN BUT I COULDN'T FIND ANY. IS THERE ANY OTHER PLACE THE WATER COULD BE COMING FROM? I PUMPED OUT 2 GALLONS OF WATER THE OTHER DAY FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE UNIT BELOW THE A COIL. WELL ITS NOT AN LETTER A SHAPED A COIL ITS I GUESS A HALF ONE THAT SETS IN THERE ON A ABOUT 45 DEGREE ANGLE AND HAS A SMALL DRIP PAN RUNNING THE LENGHT OF IT. I DID NOT SEE ANY OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE PAN AND THE WATER SEEMS TO BE COMING OUT OF THE DRAIN JUST FINE. ANY HELP WOULD BE AWESOME I AM JUST TRYING TO SAVE MONEY AND DO IT MYSELF. CONTRACTOR CAME OUT FOR 70 DOLLARS AND SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. THANK YOU.

Things to consider
As you know your A/C equipment should have annual maintenance performed on it to insure proper operation. Was there a trap on the condensate line coming off the air handler itself? If it's a negative draw it must be there. You coil may be freezing, and or water may be drawing off the coil and landing in the cabinet. Only a professional can determine proper operation.
