Lennox CompleteHeat

I have an older model Lennox CompleteHeat that is dying (leaking, short cycling, zone regulators not responding to the thermostats any more...). It's still putting out heat to the pipes that heat the house, even though I have turned the thermostat to "off." 1) Can I just shut off the valves to the pipes that heat the house for the summer and keep open the valves to the pipes that provide hot water - or is there some danger there? 2) I will finally have to replace it, of course. Should I get a separate boiler and water heater (cheaper, I think??) or buy another expensive and complicated Lennox? Thanks!

Replacement
You'll have continual issues with what you have. Replacement can be done with several options. If you have radiant heating and 2 baths with no soaking tubs, a combo appliance would be a good choice, like the Triangle Tube PE110. If you have baseboard, radiators or an air handler coil, (and more baths with a large DHW load) a separate boiler and indirect storage tank would be preferred. The new equipment will still need regular maintenance, but not be as problematic.0
