  • Sounds like

air.  It could have entered the system when the relief valve was replaced.  There should be some kind of air elimination device on your system (automatic air vent, Spirovent, etc.); the trick is to get the air to migrate to that device.  Do you have someone that services your boiler?
    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

    air in system

It is air in the system.  What is your water pressure at??? It should be at 12 PSI.

lack of water pressure will cause the system to trap air.

    air / water pressure ??

system  pressure  when cold & full should be  15 psi minimum....when hot  higher...maybe  as much  as   24 psi...//   1156...extrol tank...& gauge  should  all be changed  with relief  valve...//   that  eliminates   "free"   call backs   two..or 3 days  after  relief  changed...
