when troubleshooting furnaces with door switches should you by pass it or tape it so the switch stays in. i wondered if the tape was not tight eneough etc. could this give you incorrect volt readings if it was like half way connecting while trouble shooting.is bypassing it the best bet or any other ideas. thx

Generally?
The switch itself is a snap action switch and is either engaged or not engaged. it's like a light switch, on or off. I find it's easier to tape, bypass or what ever so I don't have to use my knee to accomplish this task. I'm getten old and not as acrobatic as I used to be....:-)
