Radiator question
ERO
Posts: 13
Should I attempt to move the air vent on this radiator. Of the 6 radiators in this house, 4are of this type and only one of those 4 has the air vent opposite the inlet valve.

It depends....
How does the room (s) heat? If its even. If you have a good main venting you may be all set. If you don't or if the radiator does not heat all the way through.... might be worth a shot. By rule it should be lower...kpc0 -
Radiator question
The 3 radiators that have the air vent on the same side as the inlet valve do not heat all the way across. The rooms do heat but the boiler cycles between 5 and 10 times and I think part of that problem is these radiators.
Also, how do you figure the EDR on this type of radiator0 -
That looks like a Weil-McLain
either a Raydiant or Solray. I think at least some of the charts for these are on the site.
If the air vents are mounted at the top, steam will close them before the rad is fully heated. There should be a `boss` cast into the rad anywhere from one-third to two-thirds up, which can be drilled for 1/8-inch pipe thread so a vent can go there. All Steamed Up, Inc.
