For CI baseboards, the water should be bottom in and bottom out or should be bottom in and up out?

My existing CI baseboards are bottom in and bottom out. Somebody told me it should be bottom in and up out. It seems better to me.

Which way is better?

    always piped bottom/bottom

unless on a steam system. Top supply/ opposite bottom condensate drain.

I have almost always found CI BB to be piped in and out thru the bottom tappings and the upper tapping away from the supply gets the coin vent.

Here is some good reading material for you:

Bottom in, top out eliminates need for individual air bleeders...

You could then power purge from the basement instead of having to visit each individual radiator with a screw driver and a towel...

If it affected the output by more than 2%, I 'd be totally surprised.

It will work fine either way. Just makes it easier and cleaner to get the air out from the mechanical room.

It's not so much a case of "You got what you paid for", as it is a matter of "You DIDN'T get what you DIDN'T pay for, and you're NOT going to get what you thought you were in the way of comfort". Borrowed from Heatboy.
