Comparing electric/gas bills from 12/98 with 12/11

Chucking old files found this. Includes all supply, delivery, taxes, charges:

Electric: 12/98 155 kwh @$24.67 = .159¢ KWH. 12/11

238KWH@$50.57 = $.212/kwh. 33.3% raise.  13yrs avg rise 2.56%/yr.



12/98NatGas 80 therms/$84.99 = $.941/therm. 12/11 67 therms/$152.79 =

$2.28/therm = 142% raise. and this is with supposedly lower gas rates. (heat, hwh, stove, drier.) 13yrs avg 11% rise/yr.

So direct fossil fuels rose 4.25x as much as electric if my quick math here is right. (I do believe though the more the gas use, the lower the price per therm at some levels, so not true apples to apples.) Just sayin.....
