Has anybody used these?  Is drilling into 4" PVC , then threading into the pipe ,& then screwing in the P/P ,how it is done?

    Pete's

All the ones I have used have been 1/4" or 1/2" MPT and were screwed into a brass or steel FPT. As far as threading the wall of PVC I think it depends on what is in the PVC and what the pressure is .

    P /P

It is all water @ 50psi.There are eight gauges that have 1/2" PVC nipples drilled and screwed thru the pipe side wall ,they are right before and after the four circulators. Doesn't seem right.

    Drilling & threading

Schg #80 PVC is perfectly acceptable according to the pipe mfrg.

    P/T plugs

Most all commercial size pumps have 1/4' female pipe tappings in the suction and discharge flanges for the installation of gauges. Usually we pipe the two together

with two valves and a tee between the valves for the gauge. With one gauge to read both inlet and outlet pressure you avoid in-accuracy. If you want to add pete's plugs to this system why not just screw 1/4 ' pete's plugs into the pump flanges? You could then measure temp. or pressure with equipment of known accuracy.

Knowing the pressurers of the circ's is one thing.Setting & adjusting the proper flow thru the 5 chillers (only 3 chillers run at any one time) is another.Tks Bob.
