B&G flow control???

Hello all,

I have a client who recently started experiencing ghosting occuring in the upper zone(mid floor and 2nd floor areas). It only occurs for the 2nd floor piping. A zone valve on the return piping is not bleeding through hot water.

Could I install a flo-control in the supply pipe that is ghosting to prevent this occurence. Soory no pics.

Thanks in advance,

Michael

    There are probably

a couple of things that can be happening....  One is that the zone valve is bleeding through a bit...  Not enough to bring the hot water around so that you can feel it but bleeding enough to create the issue that you're talking about...  Second is that you are experiencing thermal migration or "Ghost flow"....  A spring check or a Flow check on the supply, like a Taco 219....  would help with that...

Just because you seal the return doesn't mean that you won't have flow yet in the supply pipe...

      Hope this helps

    Thanks.

    Yes, this helps.

Circulator is on return pumping away from taco zone valves. But only on 1 of the 2 supply pipes for upstairs is migrating. Also replaced zone valve in Oct, 2011.

    Thancks,

    Michael
