Magnetic coffee grounds

No, this is not some health boosting gimmick.

I recall seeing a thread  where somebody serviced a Trinity boiler and noticed that the dreaded "coffee grounds" in the combustion chamber were magnetic. I have two Ti200C's in a duplex that were installed in 2005, and the installing contractor is no longer in the game, so I have been cleaning them myself. I looked in on one of them today, and checked for magnetic grit in the trap. Sure enough, the little that drained out stuck to the magnet. The other thing I am noticing is that the grit quantity seems to be declining over time. Both units have 30-40' runs of 1.25" black iron gas pipe from the meters, and I wonder if the swarf is just depleting over time. Anybody else see this on longer service history giononni units?
