While switching all of my neighbors vents to Gorton's he pulled off one of these vents.

I'm curious how old it is and if there is any info on it?  I've got a feeling its a pretty slow vent.

Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

    Warco Vent

Hi Chris-  Attached is a data sheet on a Warco vent though it doesn't look quite like what you have in the picture. You might find some info if you use the words   RICHARDSON BOYNTON on the Wall and on Google.  Frank,"Steamhead", is the "encyclopedia" on these old systems and he would be the one to ask.

I found an old post from 2006

You guessed it, written by Steamhead.  Warco is an abbreviation of William A Russel Co., which later became Bridgeport Brass.

    It's an early adjustable vent

roughly equivalent to a Hoffman #1A and works the same way. You turn the dial on top to adjust it- looks like the numbers are worn off.

    interesting

    Thanks for the info.

I do see numbers on it, they didn't show up in the pictures.  It was set to #2, the radiator is much happier with a Gorton 6 though.  The system had this vent as well as a bunch of Dole 1933s.
