How do you figure out how much air is in a radiator, so you can vent it right? Thanks tom

There is a cheat sheet. http://www.heatinghelp.com/products/Steam-Heating-Books/25/146/Balancing-Steam-Systems-Using-a-Vent-Capacity-Chart-by-Gerry-Gill-and-Steve-Pajek You do need to know how much EDR each radiator has first. Then the cheat sheet tells you how many cubic feet of air the radiator has per square foot of EDR. Just to get you started a Cast Iron Column (circa 1900) has .025 cubic feet of air per square foot of EDR0
