Ultra problems

Any one have problems with weil mclain ultra boilers on the water side? I am a heating contractor and have installed many ultra's and seem to be finding a problem with the aluminum block breaking down and causing circ pump failures. the PH level is well within WM range. (even hired a local water treatment co. to analize water) We constantly find small aluminum particles in pumps and flow checks.

Velocity
The velocity of the water is smoothing the aluminum casting. Just like erosion. The water will do the same thing to cast iron, and steel. That's why boiler water is generally black after a while.
This may be just a product of the age of the boilers. May need to start adding particle filers like they do in commercial buildings. I would think once the big stuff is gone, the issues should go away.
Have you spoke with Weil McLain yet?0
