Old Crane boiler

A fellow from Scotland sent me this photo. He's trying to identify it. The burner is from Ireland, but the boiler is Crane's. He can't find any ID info for the boiler and I don't have anything like it in my old catalogs. I thought one of you might know. Thanks.

I think you get a free haggis if you can name it.
Retired and loving it.

I'm sure Crane had a UK branch

American Radiator Co had one and I believe H.B. Smith had one too, as did Warren Webster Co. But the product was not always similar to what we had in the States.  Best bet is to see if a Crane U.K. catalog from that era can be found somewhere- maybe in a library?

    Hello ....

    Dan,

i had one of these boilers and burners in my yard for years, i moved it to the far corner of my lot so it is buried under the snow. to day it warmed up into the 30/35 below zero realm.

that boilers burner has electrodes that are long pieces of wire very similar to clothes hanger wire. i may have taken the buurner off of it if so i can get the info for you buh i will have to "Suit Up" to go look for it : )

if i do not reply within half an Hr you may have to call my buddy Rocky to come over to the house and defrost me...LOL

OOPS! your wanting to get the boiler in fo .. Hmmmm... i bought it off an old boiler maker years ago , actually i made him think that it was a "Find" and gave him 150 $ to drag it up out of his basement with a weight lifter friend...it doesn't have the original skin as he made some tin suit for it...

basically its well dressed for a boat anchor . and now that the old guy has moved on to a more certain reward i do not mind saying its the only anchor like that on my lot. :)

its pretty far back there Dan and well, getting at it wont be easy...

Old Crane bolier & Kresky burner

    Hi Folks,

I have a couple more photos of the boiler - and can take more if anyone out there thinks it would help jog a memory. I've attached a photo of the base of the flue, to the rear of the boiler, showing some sort of serial number; and another of the front.

The burner is by the Kresky Manufacturing Co, Mallow, Co. Cork, Ireland (model number ? 0KP ?) - if that helps date the boiler, it would be great to know.

Any efforts to findan original build date for this boiler would be very gratefully appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    Jimmy
