Radiant Floor/unico wiring help

Hello
I recently installed Radiant flooring and had a Unico system put in. I am seeking a wiring diagramn or advice on how to connect the two systems via thermostat. The house is 1200 sq feet. The unico air handler will be one zone. Radiant will be Two zones (master bed/ bath on separate zone)
I would like to have the unico set up as a second stage heat call. I'm uncertain how to do this and if both thermostats need to run to the air handler
Thanks for the help

Floor sensors
When I combine high velocity and radiant, and I do a lot, I like to use a floor sensor.
The floor sensor when combined with the proper thermostat package, will maintain a temperature and the Unico can come on with a regular call for heat.
What part of the country are you in?0 -
Floor sensors
Thx Meplumber
I'll have to look into the sensors
No issues having a zone of radiant and the entire unico off of 1 thermostat ?0 -
that would depend
It would depend on layout.
If you are only talking about a small amount of radiant compared to a large area covered by the unico, then there can be problems.
You could try putting the radiant on its own tstats and then run the unico off a separate master tstat. That would be the simple fix. The drawback would be if you had the unico in a/c mode and the radiant was running.
Let me think about this for a minute. Do you have a simple floor plan layout you could post or email me?0 -
floor plan
Thanks MePlumber,
I'm located up in Connecticut. Enclosed, please find my floor plan.
Bedroom 1, W.I.C. and Bath 2 are all on one Radiant zone. The remainer of the floor has radiant on a second zone.
The Unico has ducts throughout the 1200 sq ft space. I had initially thought I would combine the large radiant area and Unico on 1 thermo.
I have an ecobee"smart" tstat that i might be abe to add a sensor too.
Any advice is greatly appreciated !
