water loss
this can be a dangerous situation!!. can you verify that your low water cut off is working?
it may be only a plugged gauge cock on the sight-glass, do a search here for that term, and you will find instructions on how to remove the glass, and poke out the top and bottom connections.
if you suspect a boiler leak, then the most certain test is to turn the boiler off, and add water until the boiler is over-filled above the top. verify that the water level rises in the sight-glass. then look for leaks on the floor over a period of several hours. don't forget to lower the water level when finished with the test.
if you see water, then use the find a contractor button here to do a search by state, not by zip code.--nbc0
