Boiler door gasket

I have a Weil McLain 368st oil fired steam boiler, what size fiberglass rope do you use for the door? The stuff that lynn gives you, is like a putty which is hard out of the package. Thanks Tom

    i use 3/8 kawool rope and hi temp gasket material thats in the tube
