Had an issue today with a beckett nx burner firing at .50x60a mfgs specs for a Carrier Low Boy furnace. the Flame was very irratic and the retention head was soaked of oil. what would cause this. tried air settings, retention settings, changed nozzle, no avail. R.W. Beckett says change from a .50x60a to a .50x60w.

you zero out the drawer assembly? Replace the filter and strainer to make sure they werent plugged? Check oil pressure? What was your draft, I believe the NX likes about -.02 and anything higher will cause erratic fire...0 -
NX
The NX is a high static pressure retention head burner. It likes a +.02 and will fire up to a +.05 without problem. I would checkout the nozzle seat. make sure the adapter is not scored and the nozzle has not been over tightened.0
