cleaning hofffman 41 vents

Can a hoffman vent be cleaned and reused. Will it work and stop hissing

    Vinegar

    Try boiling it in vinegar. That usually helps get rid of the crud.

    how long to boil?

    Boil for how much time?



    Same for all other radiator vents?



    Same time for hoffman main vents?



    I shouldn't boil a gorton #2, right or wrong?

    One pipe steam, Weil-McLain 380 , pipes mostly insulated, 32 radiators!

    Bock 32E water heater, Bock M-SR burner with .75 80A nozzle.

    too much pressure?

    Is his vent hissing because the boiler pressure is too high?
    One pipe steam, Weil-McLain 380 , pipes mostly insulated, 32 radiators!

    No set time.

    Just try it until it's clean. I'd boil them all. 
    Retired and loving it.
