So I'm at a party last night, and saw the neatest thing.The homeowner, who I barely know surrounded his new enclosures with crown moulding. which means they stick out an extra 2 inches from the wall. But that's not all. There is 2 inches of blue board behind them. That's R-10.

These things are elegant! He spray painted them with a high gloss lacquer. They're like a brand new car.

Now the point. I just checked the temp in my enclosures. It's 5 below outside.When my burners shut off, at 165, the temp two inches above the fins read 132. And that's right up against the sheetrock. This extra 2 inches has got to be a big plus.

I don't know anybody here with a thermal imaging camera. Would someone here, who owns a TIC, be nice enough to go outside there house and shoot the outside wall where there is an enclosure, then at the same elevation shoot a spot where there is not one. I'd love to see the differential.
