Boiler Water Chemical Treatment

Here in SE Idaho the water is alkaline and very hard. Attached are some photos taken of a boiler being removed for replacement. It shows what lack of proper water treatment will get you in a hurry. These folks now have a treatment specialist and a comprehensive program with all the bells & whistles. They calculate that it is cheaper than frequent boiler replacement.

The wife won't allow that. Instead of toweling off, we use a stick to scrape off the scale. Good thing I'm bald because it can make for some real bad hair days.0 -
