installed a $20 t stat on my new home 240K btu wells mcl

in Strictly Steam
i have two wires RW coming from transformer and two from boiler RW 

when i hookinto t stat 

set it for hydroponic gas etc

it will reconize the call for heat when u raise temp  but when u lower it it does not get a call for off?

    cheap thermostat troubles

    don't forget to set it for "steam", if that's what you have. "hydronic" will give you a different number of cph. if there is no mention of a steam setting, then back it should go.

    there should be a tech support number from the thermostat mfg, so why not give them a call?--nbc

    Is it Wired Correctly?

    It should be obvious that you do not connect both of the white wires to the W terminal and both of the red wires to the R terminal.

    It must be connected in a series.  One wire from the transformer to the t'stat, once wire from the valve to the other terminal on the t'stat, the second wire from the gas vavle and the second wire from the transformer should be connected together.
