A condensate return system is so installed as to provide for the direct return of condensate to the boiler by means of a high level receiver and a three-valve lifting trap of the tilting type.
The recommended position of this lifting trap with respect to the boiler water line, when the boiler is operating at 30 lbs. per sq. in., is MOST NEARLY_________ the water line.
A) 3 ft. above
B) 2 ft. above
C) 2' 6" above
D) 2" below
I know the correct answer is A) 3 ft. above, but does anyone know what formula was used to get this answer?
