Steam convector

I have an issue where a contractor renovated a 100 year old house. And while redoing the bathroom removed the wall type convector and repiped the steam and condensate. Instead of lowerring the pipe he just used elbows to lower and reran the pipe below the new floor then went up to the convector. He has created a trap in the line. Is there a fix to this short of repiping the risers. The system is a 2 pipe gravity return sysytem with no condensate return tank.
