Harmonic Noise from TT PE110

Member Posts: 3,663
We installed a new PE110 2 months ago and have recently replaced the defective MCBA board. Now the boiler is making a harmonic sound intermittently that is disturbing to the homeowner. Attached is a recording of the sound. Any ideas? The boiler is vented with 2" Centrotherm with less than 14 feet of sidewall venting.

Harmonics
When does it make the sound? In DHW mode or CH? Is it piped primary-secondary? What size piping?8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Setup
The boiler makes the sound during both DHW and heat modes. 1" P/S with Alpha pump on the secondary. 2" Centrotherm vent sidewall vented, about 12 feet.0 -
The Fix
TT just got back to me and said the fuel mixture needs to be adjusted, and gave me the fix and parameters for adjustment. Apparently the groaning sound is caused by a lean fuel mixture. TT wants to see a CO2 reading of 9.3% on high fire and 9.0-9.6% on low fire.0
