How do I calculate the size of a new vacuum system. 2 pipe steam with 400 radiators

Normally,
you'd size it for two times the system's steaming capacity. All boilers steam at a constant rate of 1/2 gpm per 1,000 sq. ft. EDR. That's for the water size.
For the air side, you have to consider the age of the system. A good rule of thumb for old systems is to allow 1 cfm per 1,000 sq. ft. EDR
The steam traps have to be working of course.Retired and loving it.0
