Hot Water Recirc Install Question
EW
Member Posts: 2
I didn't get any hits from the "Domestic Hot Water" side. I have a Burnham Alliance indirect hot water tank and would like to set up a hot water recirculation system since my master bath is on the other side of the house. The hot water tank has the cold inlet on the bottom which also acts as the drain and hot water out on top which also acts at the pressure relief. Trying to figure the best place to connect the pump and what else I may need. Thanks for any help. -Ed

Recirc.
The recirc. line would tee into the cold water line at the water heater. Gate valve, pump (if needed) and check valve working upstream to downstream.
If you are going to use a pump, the check valve would be a spring-type. If without a pump (thermosiphon), you would use a swing-type check valve on the horizontal.8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour
