Hot Water Recirc Install Question
EW
Member Posts: 2
I have a Burnham Alliance indirect hot water tank and would like to set up a hot water recirculation system. The hot water tank has the cold inlet on the bottom which also acts as the drain and hot water out on top which also acts at the pressure relief. Trying to figure the best place to connect the pump and what else I may need. Thanks for any help. -Ed

Hot water recirculation
check into using the Grundfos Comfort pump system. www.grundfos.us
one system pump gets installed on the hot water outlet and a comfort pump valve gets installed under the furthest sink and the hot water gets pumped out the hot lines and crosses over into the cold line. with this system there is no return line needed to be run back to your indirect water heater. This pump has a timer on it and I would not rune it 24/7
second comfort pump gets installed on the hot water pipe and you can run a return line back to the indirect water heater and put a tee in the cold water inlet pipe but you will need to install a check valve on the cold water inlet pipe so the hot water does not flow back up the cold water line. This pump has a timer and built in aquastat.
Both systems work great. check with a local plumber or heating contractor to get it installed.0
