Quick single picture of the Thanksgiving day steam boiler install.

Completed pictures coming shortly.

Happy to have had stock in the shop to make this boiler happen. While most ate turkey, we ate turkey sandwiches

Enjoy!

    really nice

I bet that some family is thankful and they don't even know how thankful to be.  Every bit of that install looks great.  Way to go!

    Thanks

Not only will the HO not appreciate it, but any service plumber will comment "idk how this ever worked with an upside down header".

    500 pound turkey...

    Nice, and sweet and simple.

Don't worry about the unknowing service tech. That systems not going to have a need for any kind of repair, other than normal maintenance.

    A thang of beauty..

    Good on you.

    Nice work!

Funny you should say that,  on Friday I had a local plumber come by to do some minor work in a crawlspace and he commented on my 3" drop header.  After I explained the idea behind it he seemed to understand.

My only question about that install is, how do you skim it?

Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

    opposite side

Skim port on the side near the feeder.

    drop header?

Just curious, since I am just starting to learn about and love steam systems, what is the function of a drop header?

    Partially done

The boiler was only partially done at the point of this pic. Notice tools on top of the boiler.
