air vent valve

Member Posts: 1
I have moved into a house with a hydronics system. The air vent valve above the boiler is a Number 67 Autovent by Maid-o-mist. How do I determine if it is working properly and is the small cap at the top kept in the closed on open position. Thanks

air vent:
I have found after years, that the caps should mostly be turned down tight to "off". If they need to be venting air, there is another problem that needs to be attended to. If you are having no problems with the water flowing, leave it alone.0
