Wiring Oventrop actuators

Does anyone know where to download a wiring schematic for these ? All have a 4 wire lead , but some have different colors . They're all hooked up to 1 - 40va. transformer that was exisiting . Verified the transformer is working . None of the actuators open or make their end switches . Looks like someone messed with the wiring before we replaced the boiler in August .

Also , is there any way to manually open these valves ?

Thanks in advance !

    Thanks Gordy !

Some of the actuators had those color wires . The others had 2 blacks , 1 blue and one brown I believe . Thinking the black wires were end switch , we saw some of them connected in the thermostat circuits . There were jumper wires going to other jumper wires . Too much to diagnose at 6:30 pm after a System 2000 install in a different home   .........

    an ohm meter

will tell you which two leads feed the coil.

Usually 3 of those per 40VA transformer, unless they are low current draw accuators. The current draw, usually in watts, should be on the head.

If that is a thermo-electric type of accuator, tey pull a lot of current on start up, for maybe two minutes, then it drops down after the element is warm.

The Caleffi thermo-electrics pulls 1 amp for 2 minutes and drops to 140ma. So if multiple valves try to start up at the same time, the transformer needs to be sized for that initial current surge. A bit different from a motorized valve that way.

    Thanks Hot Rod !

We installed a Burnham MPO at this house . 3 traditional hot water zones and this radiant manifold was on the 4th circ . There's actually only 3 radiant zones so they used 2 to 3 actuators per zone .

All we did with the radiant is reconnect the supply and return pipes , move the radiant circ wire and thermostat wire to out mult izone relay , and reconnect the transformer . The zone was locked off and isolated for the changeout so we didn't even attempt to purge it .

    Thanks again .
