This was a very good event. I learned a lot. John tells the story well:

Cant wait to see it.
Everything in the article is so true. High School counselors are always hammering college. What will happen if the trades fade away
Now days companies in my line of work hire Project Managers right out of college because they are cheap. They tote an attitude they are better than the trademan, and believe they have a given right they must be smarter than you, yet most do not have the aptitude to understand the very thing they are suppose to be able to manage. Then to top it off they are bidding the work.
What ever happened to working your way up from the bottom in a company getting a full understanding of the product you are producing. Many things can not be taught in the class room. They have to be experienced in the field. It all starts with the tradesman. Making nothing into something. Remembering his mistakes, setbacks, stumbles, and turning them into knowledge.
For me I'm not sorry I did not choose the college path. I enjoy giving my blood,, and sweat to produce something for others to marvel, and enjoy for decades to come. There is nothing wrong with going for a degree in a field you enjoy, but some people are made to physically build things. Where would the world be with out us.
