Preferred under slab insulation Snowmelt/Radiant

Hey HH gang, in the few radiant slab and snow melt applications I have done, I used the "lego" block insulation. It sure is costly....I suppose 2" xps foam with a staple down or wire mesh would be more cost effective. The lego has its pros, as it is simple to fasten the tubing.
What's your method, and what foam psi rating are you using?
Note, those using wire mesh, there is a battery apparatus that fastens the tubing to the wore making zip ties not necessary.
Thanks in advance.

hard to beat the speed
of what you're doing. if your labor costs money I doubt any other method would be more cost effective. especially if you drop mesh/vapor barrier.
under snowmelt though I'm less concerned with R-value. any thermal break is fine.Rob Brown
