Peerless G-561 Parts?

I own a Peerless Series 61 G-561 steam boiler furnace and the burner unit has partially rusted and broken off on one end. Can a new burner unit be installed and who would carry it. From searching the web all I see is that it is a retired unit. The boiler is labeled 1991.

    Peerless

may still have parts for it. Contractors can call Peerless at 610-845-6100 and ask for tech support to find out for sure.

But I'd want to know why it rusted. This may indicate a leak somewhere.

    I'm just curious

Where does it say 1991 on yours, and does it indicate that this is the year of manufacture?

I have a G-561 too, but I'm not sure how old it is. It says on the Peerless web site that "If the boiler was manufactured from 1984 to 1999, the serial number ends in a four digit date code. '123456-1284' would be manufactured in December, 1984. If the boiler was manufactured from 2000 to present, the serial number ends in a six digit date code. '123456-200505' would be manufactured in May, 2005." My serial number (61-19188) ends in a five digit number. Also, the model numbers they show for series 61 boilers are the series number followed by the number of sections, e.g. 61-05, instead of the other way around, like ours. So I'm under the impression that a model 561 or anything like it would have to be made before 1984.

I asked about this via the contact form on their web site, but they never answered my question.

By the way, I still have my original manual, so I can look up part numbers for you, but if they don't recognize the model number anymore I don't know if they'd recognize the part numbers either.
