Purchased a new boiler for a building i have last Oct 2010 . It seems to always shut off and trips a safety switch. usually its a problem with not enough water in the system , so we always have to refill holding tank and furnace but now it seems to kick on for a few min and shut down or satisfy the thermostate and never come back on with out manually restarting it.  Any help on this would greatly be apperciated.

Thanx

    More info

Is this gas or oil fired?

    What safety is tripping out?

    Did it ever work correctly?

Post some pictures of the boiler and the piping around it so we can see what yoyr dealing with.

    boiler tripping safety

first of all which safety is being activated? low water cut off, secondary safety pressuretrol, electronic pilot-safety/burner control?

if on pressure, check the pressuretrol for a plugged pig-tail, and or settings above 1.5 psi.

if on low water, check for high pressure pushing water up into the returns, lowering the boiler waterline. also if any horizontal pipes in the returns are at the waterline height, they can hide a lot of water [i had this problem]. improper supply piping can throw a lot of water up out of the boiler [post pictures here]. was the boiler ever cleaned when first installed [see skimming]?  are there steam or water leaks?

burner control. was the burner ever set up properly when first installed?--nbc
