Conversion of a new steam boiler to hot water.....

Last winter my furnace puffed, sending black soot throughout my freshly painted interior. I had a friend (a commercial boiler repairman) come over to fix it. He found a crack in it, repaired it with furnace cement and told me to start shopping for a replacement. I found one on e-bay, I thought I had asked all the right questions and purchased a brand new Weil McLean to replace my old one. Well as luck would have it when I begam to install it I found out that the new boiler is a steam boiler. My question is this; Can the new unit be converted to hot water?

Steam Boiler Conversion
Hi,
The new boiler is a Weil McLean SGO-5, Series 30 -
change
They offer a service manual for hot water so one would assume with removing the steam portion of the system you can use it for Hydronic

That boiler is able to use a power gas burner
The Carlin EZ gas burner can be installed on it without warranty issues.Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

The quick answer is yes
The problem is it will probably use up all the money you saved and more to get the water controls. You could Ebay the steam trim to try and get back some of your money.Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

SGO-5
Would I be able to use the ones on my existing furnace?0 -
recommend
without seeing what you have I cant answer that. I would however recommend you purchase a new aquastat. You'll need the well and a 30 psi pressure relief valve, alway's start new with the pressure relief valve, it's a safety and you dont want an old one that may not function...Also add a triadicator...0
