Zoning an old baseboard heat system

Hi,

We are remodeling a house for a customer.

He has a 1950's house with a pretty inefficient baseboard heat system. Copper fin.

The previous owner remodeled the downstairs and capped off the only heating loop down there.

Now, there are two loops upstairs.

It's a 1200ft. sq. upstairs....

1200 down.

We would like to cut the heating upstairs into 2 Zones using actuators and add one down .

There is a gas boiler (Burnham series 2) That is not incredibly old.

Can anyone give me some pointers on where to start?

I have experience running pex, plumbing and the like, so I think we should be able to accomplish this.

My plan a was to get a 3 zone Rehau manifold with actuators and start planning out the loops.

We do have access to the underside of the radiators.

I was just wondering if we can re-use the circulator pump that is hooked to the boiler.

I am happy to provide any details.

Thanks for your time.
