Steam boiler - hot water loop piped into 3 zone valves.
With only one zone calling, there is not enough delta-T to create colder bypass water to maintain less than 195F supply temperatures.
The largest resistance on the system is about 9 feet of head. The smallest, maybe half that. All zones require 4 GPM. There is a Taco 007 installed now. It's also cast iron, which I'm planning to change over to bronze when it fails again (4 times in 4 years).
So, now I want to size up the right pump. Thinking about modulation. Anybody find a good pump for this application.
