steam

years ago we worked on a solar project at a university building with a cafeteria....we installed an array of 3 rows of solar powered tubes to generate dhw for the cafe kitchen...the minute the sun came up they were working very well...with it being new technology at the time(steam solar) there was an ongoing problem with maintaining water levels.....we turned it over to the engineers and never found out how it was resolved.....what is the current state of tech. with steam solar , if any???? Thanks , Jack
