I just wrote 1,000 words on painting old radiators and the editor is asking me for some photos of same. Want to see your beauties in a beautiful magazine? Send them to dan@heatinghelp.com. Thanks!

I know Gerry Gill has some sweet pictures of powder coated radiators on his website, he should have them put into the Magazine

    In-progress shots?

The editor liked the photos I forwarded from you all but asked if I had any pics of in-progress repainting. Using the hot-dog roller or radiator brush, stripping the old paint, anything like that? It would make the article that much better.

I appreciate any help you can give. Thanks!

I just dropped a note to Gwen Healey

the Radiator Ranger up at Breitenbush. She is up to her... ELBOWS, in radiators :-)

    Let's see what she produces.

It's not so much a case of "You got what you paid for", as it is a matter of "You DIDN'T get what you DIDN'T pay for, and you're NOT going to get what you thought you were in the way of comfort". Borrowed from Heatboy.

    Pictures of Radiators?

Thanks, for the alert and enthusiasm, makes me smile. I'm quite beyond my elbows in radiators!

The old house I live in (Breitenbush Hot Springs) is like an inside-out mansion. People stay in relatively small rooms / cabins connected by a forest landscape and a geothermal, district heating system. We use about 230 radiators to heat the facility.

I acquire radiators, pull and replace the old fittings & pressure test them before they get primed, painted and returned to service. When I do the painting here I wash the units, etc. apply a flat black primer then apply the paint color of choice. We've also sent them out for sandblasting and painting and they look fantastic upon return. Someone told me last week he never imagined a radiator could look so good! They can get to looking rough around the edges after 100-125 years of standing still.

I picked out several images that may work. I'lll send them along in small batches and include several of the after pictures here too. I hope you find some you can use!

What file format are you using?

I believe it has to be .jpg or .pdf .

    Another attempt at posting images

    They are .JPG files....

I tried to set up a flickr account but can't figures that out either. Once way or another I'll post some radiator pictures soon.
