Pocket window doors

I am thinking about adding a small home on my property. I have been looking at using two 2x4 walls instead of a 2x6 to accommodate more insulation and an idea I have been thinking of. That is building in pocket doors on the casement windows.
I am thinking about making the doors out of 2 inch polystyrene sandwiched between 1/4 luan. Then having them slide into the side of the deep sill using standard wall pocket hardware. This would give me a r-10 indoor shutter that could easily be opened and closed. Living in the country , I love looking out windows but when you plug that glass into a heat loss it is a incredible loss.
Has anyone seen this or anything like it? Ideas, comments?

Add them OUTSIDE
Good idea, insulated shutters, if outside.
If within the house, the moist heated air WILL seep in to the cool space between the shutter and the room and create ungodly mold.
I covered 8 windows with indoor styrofoam in the 1973 energy crunch,
Yep..mold. Here in Minnesota.0 -

error
I meant to say that warm moist room air would seep between the interior shutter and the cooler window pane, condensing on the window. But whos perfect?0 -
Old victorian construction
Around me there are alot of homes that still retain their original interior shutters, that are very skinny, fold into two or more sections, and disappear into the left and right side window casing. The section that folds in to become the "casing" is solid wood, generally made like a inlaid door. Don't know what kind of a r value they provide but I really love them! (my home sadly does not have these). There was an error rendering this rich post.
