water meter

I'm looking for a decent water meter to keep track of any water added to the boiler. I am tempted to go with the VXT but at the same time prefer the idea of a manual feed plus a quality meter. Sometimes simpler is better.
The fact the VXT will not add small amounts of water to maintain the NWL kinda makes it seem pointless to me. So unless I loose enough water to trip the LWCO I'm going to have to maintain the level anyway. Is there a reason to use a VXT I am not thinking of?
The only meter I have found so far is the Hydrolevel WM-1. What are some other options?
