Hello -- my husband & I purchased a 1917 house in Cooperstown, NY, with a two-pipe steam boiler vacuum system ( I hope I got that right).  We're about an hour from Schenectady, Albany, Utica/New Hartford and 1.5 from Syracuse, and we're looking for someone with (we hope) years of experience with such systems to do some efficiency consulting for us:  in other words, we would be happy to pay you to come look at the system and make some recommendations.  My husband is a contractor so he and his team can do the actual work, but we're new to systems like these and are looking for expert opinions.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance --- Elizabeth

    why not post some pictures here of the boiler piping, and the radiators, including any piping/valves,etc. any faulty previous installation may be identified first.

    is the system functioning well now? the radiators should all heat evenly with no hammering,

    Hello, yes, sorry for the delay, we are a bit off I-88 --- about 30 minutes north of Oneonta which is right on 88.  Is this sort of consulting something we could ask you to do?  thanks -- I'll be posting photos too in the next couple days....
