Can a model SA 2" flow check be closed down to act like an isolation valve for servicing ?

flow check
what do you mean by servicing? It should be in the closed position to stop gravity feed, unless there have been zone valves added somewhere. By closing them down, they will hold the water back, but won't become a positive shut off0 -
valve
I need to change a bearing assembly. Isolation valve on one side of series 60 and flow check on the other.0 -
Re: using flow check to hold system press
Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. All you can do is try it carefully and see if when loosening bolts the pressure subsides. We have done it many times and it works most of the time. Make sure to protect surrounding area with bucket to catch water and rags and do not just pull bolts quickly.0
