Peerless EC/ECT-04 to Gas

Just found out that natural gas is going to be available locally (my street) late this year so was wondering anyone has knowledge if my Peerless EC/ECT-04 was factory approved for doing a gas conversion.

With the escalating oil prices and no movement on the part of the burner manufacturers toward a residential sized modulating/staged oil burner, I'm seriously considering converting.  If the Burnham's Megasteam model was available in gas that would be my first choice.  I've heard rumored undercurrents of changes coming out in the residential steam boiler market and being in the situation of possibly getting a new boiler fairly soon, would be interested in any information as to what changes are expected and how soon we would be seeing them. Thoughts?

    Shouldn't be a problem

I had asked our Carlin rep regarding a similar boiler, and he says a stock EZ-Gas burner works great- no need to order an air tube with a welded flange on it. You'll want to use an air tube with a 9-slot head, unless your boiler is fired at its maximum rate.

Thanks Frank! I'm just exploring my options at this point. I know very little about gas as it hasn't been historically available in my area. I know you can high/low an atmospheric burner but thought I'd inquire if there was anyway possible/practical to "2 stage" the EZ-Gas burner?  Not having gas available locally I haven't paid that much attention to the subject.

    Not yet

but it's worth waiting for. The Carlin people know we want a 2-stage EZ-Gas.
